Gonna be MIA this week....

Hello my wonderful crafty friends!

I just wanted to pop in a little note to say I hope you all have a wonderful week :).  I will be super duper busy outside of crafting, so no projects this week.  We are going to be gone for the 4th of July, so I don't need to make any projects.  (I guess I should never say never.)  :)

My daughter and I are in the process of renovating her old bedroom to be more sophisticated.  It's going to be a lot of work.  I will definitely have a before and after picture show for you.  Interesting color choices but I think it will pull together nicely once it is all completed.  Thanks IKEA for it not costing us a total fortune.  :)  But dang, there something to be said about buying already put together furniture.  I am exhausted.  LOL!  All those screws!

Here are a few samples:

Have a GREAT and SAFE week!

Kristine's Bridal Shower...

Hello Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful day today.  I surely did.  Today was my bestie Delene, soon to be daughter in laws, bridal shower.  We all have such a GREAT time when we get together.

I made her this card with the help of Penny Duncan Creations Peony Petals .svg file (It is in the Flower section on her left side bar).  I used a center from a flower that I got at SVGCuts.com.  I had some Peony leaves left over from another project and wrapped floral tape around some candy sticks.  Tied it all together with a white ribbon to make look like a bouquet and adhered to card.  Wha-la!  :)

What do you think?  I was so happy with how it turned out.

Challenge Week 4 at The Paper Dolls

**UPDATE**
Unfortunately it has been brought to my attention that this file is no longer from the SVGShop.  :( Sorry.

Hello Friends!

I know I haven't entered a challenge in a while, but when I saw this one today over at The Paper Dolls I just had to.  As soon as I saw this fabulous Flip Flop Box .svg file from Eleanor over at the SVGShop, well I had the perfect idea in mind.

I immediately thought of those bride and groom flip flops that you can get at most wedding shops that have the words on the bottom of the shoe, so when you walk on the sand it leaves the imprint Bride/Groom.  So I played around a little with my SCAL2 and came up with this for a bridal shower gift.  (You could totally make a combo Bride/Groom gift and make one in black and put Groom on the bottom of the sole.  Make them a left and a right.)  :)  Just an idea. hehe You know I always have ideas.

What do you think?

See how I stamped Congratulations to look like
a shoe manufacturer logo.  :)

I embossed the straps and added a flower spritzed
with a sparkly mist and added a rhinestone to the
center of the flower.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder to run the bottom
sole through after I put cut out the word Bride
with my SCAL2.  (hint: make sure you layout the
word correctly to go with the shoe direction.)  hehe
Took me 2 tries to figure this out.  LOL

I would love to hear what you think.

Have a GREAT day!

My daddy's card...

Hello and Happy Father's Day!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day.  We have a day packed full for my hubby today for Father's Day.

Without further ado, here is the card I was telling you about yesterday, for my dad.  :)

Inside:  Snooze Away
I totally got this idea from Kim over at From My Stamp Room.  I saw this digi she used from Sassy Cheryl's called Father's Day Snooze...love it!  And I loved how she used a die cut for the tree tops.  I don't have a die so  I used the clouds in the weather setting under shapes of my SCAL2 software and then I pop dotted them up.

Now to work on some more graduation and bridal shower cards.  I hope you enjoyed my little card.

Hugs to you!

My hubby's Father's Day card...

Hello friends!

I hope your weekend is going well.  Mine is OK.  Been making my Father's Day cards today (nothing like waiting til the last minute, I say)  hehe  I am such a procrastinator sometimes.  Anybody else?....anybody???

I thought I would go ahead and share my hubby's father's day cards from me and our son (and the dogs, they love him so)  Oops, I forgot to sign from our cat.  Oh well, he knows she loves him too.  :)  He doesn't read my blog so it won't ruin the surprise.  Tomorrow I will show my daddy's card because 'he does' read my blog, occasionally, so I don't want to spoil his surprise.

Here it is:

He loves diamond plate, he would cover everything in it like wallpaper if he could.  LOL  Thanks to my good friend and fellow CA member Ann for giving me this embossing folder.  I initially borrowed it and then she gave me as she had 2 of them.  She totally ROCKS!  I know the coloring isn't up to par, I just can't figure out how to get the shiny look with my Copics...yet.  I will keep trying.

He got a new GMC pick up this year and loves it so much, that when I saw this Truck digi from Handmade by Paula a few months ago I knew it was going to be for my hubby's Father's Day card.  You should check out her blog, she is awesome.

I kept the GMC emblem red, because that was one of his favorite things on the truck when he got a new grill he wanted them to put the red emblem back on it.  So I colored it red.  :)

Well, that is it for me today.  Stay tuned for my dad's card tomorrow.  I semi-copied someone else's card, but isn't that the greatest form of flattery?  :)

Hugs to all!

Wedding card...

Hello friends...

Today I made a wedding card.  I loved this digi when I saw it on another blog and just had to have it.  I see many wedding cards in it's future.  :)

You can find the Kissy Kissy digi at

It seems kind of plain and simple, but I did some embossing on it so in person it sparkles and shines.  Didn't show up well in the pic.  I was going to go with just all white to start out with, but the black background made it pop a bit more so I went with that.

Have a nice day!
