A most wonderful surprise...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I just had to share with you this lovely quilt that one of my dearest friends and EGHS Drill Team parent (GO HERD!) made for me.  Mind you I haven't coached since 2008, but I love that we all have kept in touch all these years.

Several months ago she posted on facebook that the 5 first people to comment on her post she would make something for.  Being the smart A that I am I did.  (I never in a million years thought she would take me seriously.)  And I totally forgot about it.  LOL!   So a few weeks ago she posted on her fb page, that she had a present for me and the other 4 that commented on her post.  I immediately responded because I was curious to know what she did.  She is a very crafty person like me.  :)

Well here is what she did!!!!  I am still overjoyed and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

She recreated all the our T-shirts over the years and included our Disneyland trip group photo.  (Wow, that waterfall isn't there anymore.)

What GREAT memories I have from my times as the coach of these lovely ladies.  I can't even tell you how old they make me feel right now.  LOL!  I am still in touch with most all of them.  :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TAMA for this beautiful quilt.  I will cherish it always!

Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I can't believe I never got these pics up of my parents "50th Anniversary" dinner.

There anniversary is the same day as my husbands birthday...I mean exactly the same day!  LOL!  ;)  They went back to Tennessee to visit my moms family, so we celebrated when they got back to town.

We have a wonderful little Italian place here in town call Vinces that has been here for as long as I can remember.  They were so generous and let us have the little family gathering in there fireplace room.  It was a very beautiful area.  (No charge, btw.)  And they let us decorate and have a cake table.  :)

The cake made by the wonderful Kristine!

The centerpieces!

One of the many gifts was a photo of them cutting
their wedding cake.  One of my favorite
pics of them when the were sooo young.  :)

My brother, me, dad, mom and my sister.

My hubby, me, dad, mom, sister and brother in law.

Just missing one of the grandkids (the oldest one) she lives
in So CA now and couldn't make it up.

Cheer's to the Happy Couple!!

Here is a closer look of the centerpiece I made.  It has
little LED lights in the glass.  Looked really pretty in
person, but couldn't get a good camera shot.  :(

 Have a great day!

Eric Carle inspired diaper cake...

Hello Crafty Friends...

Once again it has been a very busy time for me lately.  #2 daughter is now out on her own (well, with a roommate) and will be starting her senior year in college.  We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished.  Our son is starting his Junior year in high school.  Where has all the time gone???? And #1 daughter started a new adventure this summer with a promotion and new location.  She is very excited to live so much closer to the beach and Disneyland.

As stated in the title, my friend was in need of help making a diaper cake for a co-worker who's nursery is Eric Carle inspired.  You know, of The Very Hungry Caterpillar fame.  <3 <3 <3 his books.  Already started a collection for my future (waaaay in the future) grandchildren.  LOL!

Since there really aren't a lot of crafty items out there that are The Very Hungry Caterpillar, I made one with bright colored pom poms.  Scotia found some really great baby items to go with it.

As you can probably notice something is missing...
he has no antennae.  Sco was going to add
that when she got to school.  I had no pipe cleaners.
Put that on list now.  LOL!

My lovely friend Scotia.  She is the most wonderful person EVER!!!  I love helping
out her Kindergarten class.
Until the next time...(as we speak I am typing up more posts, LOL)

Wedding Announcements...

Hello My Crafty Friends...

As some of you may already know, I have been working on some wedding projects for some really GREAT friends who's son is getting married in September.  I can't hardly wait to see how everything pulls together.  It is going to be FABULOUS!!!!

I am sure it is ok to share the wedding announcements that I made them as they have all been sent out a few weeks ago.  :)  I really loved working with Melissa (the bride)...1. because she was so easy going and 2. we love pretty much the same stuff when it comes to weddings.  LOL!

She pretty much gave me carte blanche on the ideas.  She told me a few things she liked and let me roll with it.  I made her a few samples and we went from there.  Mixed a few together and viola!

It was no surprise to me when she chose the one that I used The {Stamps} of Life stamps on.  (My favorite company for stamps.)  <3  These were the brides favorite flowers and fit perfectly with her fall theme.

Bear with me as I try to find all of them to link here as they have a new website and I have to find them all.  LOL!  I apologize ahead of time if I don't find them all.

I love using white gel pen on Kraft paper.
And as you can see you don't really have to have perfect
handwriting and it still looks good.  This is a sample I wrote.
My bestie Delene addressed all the envelopes.  She has BEAUTIFUL
handwriting.  Sorry I couldn't share one of those.  I should
have had her do a sample for me.
This is how it looked when you opened the envelope.
Here is the inside of the outer wrapping.
Originally my sample was planned for one or the other wrapping, but Melissa
liked both so we went with both.  :)
The top was an information card for directions, accommodations etc.
Next up the response card.  Here we kept it informal and simple.
And then the announcement.  Sorry for all the strike through information areas.
Next time I will remember to print a dummy for my
scrapbook.  I learn something every time I do these.
OK, so now for the stamps I used...they all are from
The {Stamp} of Life

1. daisies2garden
2.  moremums2love
3.  friends4ever
4. The yellow flower is from a special gift
stamp that I received for being a club
member I believe.
(There are some great perks to being a member.)

I embossed the white flower with white embossing powder first
and then stamped over it with the coral color.  I gently wiped off
excess on the white with a cotton swab.

Then I embellished with pearls.
Here I was trying to be artsy with my photography.  I really
need to get this camera in and checked out.  Ugh!
Again, sorry for the strike through's.  :(

I hope you "LOVE"  them as much as I "LOVED" making them.  Loads of labor and lot's of love went into these.

TTFN!

Another baby girl card...

Hello Crafty friends!

There apparently is a baby girl boom going on around me.  LOL!  Here is another baby girl card I made for my daughter's friend.

I wanted to play with my Sizzix embossing folders Butterflies and Flowers from The {Stamps} of Life that goes with the onesie4baby stamp set.
