Bridal Shower Luncheon Invite...

Hello My Crafty Friends!

Well I am back from another of many little mini vacations we have lined up for this summer.  I will share about that in my next blog post.  Let's just say that it isn't a family vacation for us unless "someone" or "something" gets broke.  ;)

For now I am ready to share one of the many projects I have going on for this summer and that is a bridal shower luncheon invitation.  This was totally inspired by Valita at Valita's Designs and Fresh Folds.  If you haven't been over to her blog, please go check it out.  She is fabulous!  She is one of the inspirations for me to get into this whole blogging thing.  LOL!  (She doesn't know it, but probably now does, hehe)  I am not ashamed that I am a total stalker.  :)

Here is her post that inspired me...Wedding Dress Card.  Gorgeous right?!  (I'm assuming you went and checked it out?)

I am so excited to be helping out with one of my favorite families who will be getting a new daughter in law this year.  I helped with their daughter Kristine's (pictured below) shower and wedding projects last year you might recall.  She married my Besties son.  You can see the items I made for them under the wedding label over on the left hand side of my blog.  When I saw Valita's Wedding Card I just knew it would be the perfect Bridal Shower Luncheon invitation for Melissa.

And without further ado. here is my version:

Here is the outside of the invitation.

And here is the inside.

I would like to apologize to the designer of
this clothes hanger .svg file.  I downloaded
back before I knew the proper etiquette
for labeling .svg files.  If this belongs to you
please let me know and I will be sure to credit you
and link you to this blog.

As you can see, loads of hangers.  :)

I used my Xyron to make these sticky
as they were too skinny for
my ATG gun to tape.  :)

Kristine, my wonderful helper.

And I am not above using child labor...JK.
This is my niece Taylor punching all the tiny flowers.
Never tell auntie you are bored 2 weeks into
summer vacation.  I will find something for
you to do.  LOL!
We put little glitter Stickles dots in random flowers to give a little sparkle.  Sorry the pictures are so blurry, I only had my Iphone available to me at the time.  Takes better outdoor than indoor shots.  : /

I would also like to thank my Bestie, Delene for her help also.  She is on summer break and I am going to keep her busy also.  LOL!  <3 you girls, you are the BEST!!!!

I hope you enjoyed my little project.  I will be back with another soon.  :)

Stay tuned!

Jelly Fish Kinder project...

Hello crafty friends!

This is the last week for my friends Kindergarten class, so we had to get in one more project before they left.  They had an ocean theme going on and I have been wanting to make these jelly fish I saw on Pinterest (do you see the theme here, I love Pinterest...so inspirational).  Just a slightly different version as we didn't have all of the supplies and/or time needed.  I really liked the look of these jellyfish, but had to narrow down the supply list.  The I found this technique for ruffled streamers made out of plastic table cloths from the dollar store.  What?!

You can check out both of their sites for the tutorials.  I think they turned out very well considering the limited budget I had.  :)  I got 100 plastic bowls (enough to make 50 jellyfish). 3 plastic table cloths (cut into 1" strips and following the tutorial on Cupcakes and Cutlery's blog) and then  I used my cutting machine to make 1" white circles and 1/2" black circles for the eyes.

The kids thought this was the best project all year.

A lavender sachet for bridal shower favor...

Hello again crafty friends!

A friend of mine asked me if I would help her come up with some ideas for a bridal shower she was giving.  I sent her a few ideas and since the bride to be is a very crafty person and loves to quilt, we came up with this cute little sachet idea.  I found this pin cushion on Pinterest and thought what a cute sachet it would make.

Uh oh...problem.  We wanted lavender, and lavender season wasn't until the week after the shower.  Problem solved...I Googled alternative ideas and one of the sites I visited suggested soaking cotton balls with lavender essential oil.  Yay!  I put a bag of cotton balls into a zip lock bag and added the oil.  Lot's of oil.  :)  My house smelled so good.  LOL!  Anyway, I let it set for a couple of weeks because I wanted to see how long the scent would last.  Well, it lasts...that's for sure.  This was loads cheaper than buying dry lavender and a lot softer.

I found these really cute fat quarter packs at Joann's that had all the colors coordinated already.  They were on sale for around $6.00 and I used my 40% off coupon.  Saweet!  Then I also got a bag of poly fill and a bag of coordinating buttons (all different colors and sizes).  On sale of course!

All in all. 40 sachets for under $20.00.  Woo Hoo!

The brides soon to be mother in law, and my friends had a taste testing for the cupcakes (lavender with champagne icing), and sewing day at my Besties house.  She made us quite the lunch, Yummm, and we got to work.  My friends daughter wanted to learn how to sew on a machine so I put her to work right away.  I am not above child labor.  LOL!  JK!

I have to say it did take my bestie and I an extra day (or two?) to finish these up...but check out our results.  They were quite the hit at the shower, and fit the brides personality perfectly.

I can't wait until the wedding.  It is going to be a girl trip to the wedding destination.  :)

A graduation card...

Hello my Crafty friends!

It's been a while.  Wow, time is flying by for me.  I've been so busy.  :)  Graduations, birthdays, bridal showers, weddings...my summer is all planned out.  Plus some really fun trips mixed in there as well.  Unfortunately this whiplash is going to put a damper on most of the activities, but my friends and hubby all pitched in and got me a Kindle, so I am going to read my little heart out.  I LOVE TO READ!  :)

I found this card idea on (you guessed it) Pinterest.  LOL!  I get so much inspiration from there.  I'm and addict.  I know, it's sad.  LOL!  But what can you do.  :)

Here is the link to the actual website.  Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie is a wonderful site.  She is a Stampin' Up demonstrator.  You should check her out.  Love Love Love her ideas.  Unfortunately, I do not have Stampin' Up products, so I winged it with my The {Stamps} of Life stamp set owls2love.  Here is my version of the money card...

I'm such a dork...in my rush to get this card ready I forgot
to put the hat on and the little diploma.  Oops!
Next time!  hehe

The inside pocket.  :)

I made it to fit an letter size envelope.  Additionally I used the stamp sets words2color.  The woo hoo! stamp is from a little freebie set I received for being a club member.  Stephanie just likes to give us a treat now and again.  I love that about her. :)  The die is also from The {Stamps} of Life.

This was for my daughter from another mother who graduated from college.  These were her school colors.  Love you Bar Bar!  So proud of you!  <3 <3 <3

Until next time!
