Ladybug lantern and UGH!!! WORD VERIFICATION...

Hello all my Crafty Friends!

I hope all is well and that you have all been as busy crafting as me.  Wow there are not enough hours in the week, am I right?!

Here is a Ladybug lantern I made my BESTIE!!!

Ladybug .svg from:
Everything Ladybug

Insert a little battery operated tea light, some reflective
glass marbles and
Voila!  A nice little outdoor lantern.

Well, it has become time that I had to add WORD VERIFICATION to my blog.  :(  It is a sad state of affairs isn't it?  I have been inundated with SPAM!!!!  I haven't received comments from anyone is soooo long, but I sure get plenty of SPAM!!!!  So on goes that darn WORD VERIFICATION.  (Although I will unlock it if I ever get into a blog hop.)

Sorry for the inconvenience, but as I haven't had any traffic to my blog in quite a while, I guess it won't bother anyone to much.  LOL!

If you prefer to follow me at Pinterest you can find me at MyNeed2Craft ~ My Blog
or on Facebook at MyNeed2Craft

Head on over and like or follow me.  :)

Another candy jar for Kristine...

Hello Crafty Friends...

You may remember the candy jar I made for Kristine for her kitchen with all the cute baking decals and the cupcake frosting top.  If not, go here.  It is sooo super cute :)!

Well, I also made her this candy jar to go in her living room, when she get's it done. This will be her inspiration piece...well there is also this fabric that inspired me ;).

For some reason the purple turned more blue
in the pic.  It is more purple.

The inspiration fabric.  This is what we will be making
pillows out of for her new couch when she gets it.  It will be a gray couch.
She is also working on an afghan with all these colors to coordinate.
Love it!
(Again, purple doesn't show true to what it looks like in person.)
This is the first "Failed" attempt.  I really loved these stick
on decals designs, but when I came in the next morning the were popping
off.  :(  They were too thick and rigid.  Need a flat surface.  Grrrr!

So vinyl it is!  Thanks to my wonderful and crafty friend
Ann for coming to my aid.  Every store I went to was
sold out of white vinyl.  What?!!!
Lucky for me, Ann and her husband own a sign store and
I was able to get a scrap.  They are wonderful!
Thanks again Ann and Robbie!
I love Fleur de lis!  So I made it my centerpiece.
I believe I had this from a Penny Duncan Creations file.
Sorry Penny if I am mistaken, or if it is, I couldnt find it to
reference it.
Penny has the most beautiful svg's at her Etsy store.
Check her out!

Finished product.  I love this color combo.

 Until next time...

Candy jar for wine corks...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I made this candy jar for my good friend Suzie, who, like myself, loves wine tasting.  She wanted one to display her wine cork collection.

All done up in her kitchen colors.  I am in the process
of finding a more wine themed ribbon for this.  If anyone has
any ideas where to find some, please let me know.
I can't believe there is nothing out there.  Searched
everywhere including the internet.  Ugh!

I just so happened to have a "Sparkling Wine" cork from one of my favorite wineries, Deaver Vineyards (No relation to me, darn it!) that I used for the top.  If you are ever in their area stop by.  Beautiful grounds you can picnic on.  Their California Port is my absolute favorite.  I substitute their port for water in my brownie mix.  Makes them richer! Yummy!

My sister's birthday present...

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just wanted to share the gum ball candy jar I made for my sister for her birthday and also her card.

The card layout idea I got from a Pinterest pin, and then put my own spin on it.   I would send you to the original link but I couldn't find it.  It did lead me to Stampin' Pretty blog though, and WOW does she have some fantastic cards.  <3 <3 <3  So I linked to her blog, go check it out.

For Christmas I got 2 new Fiskar's punches, A little bird told me and Petal by Petal lever punches.  I don't have any Stampin' Up products, so I improvise with what I have.  The branch and leaf die is from Sizzix.

I sponged the bird with some chalk inks.  And of course I used my The {Stamps} of Life stamp sets, words4family and greetings4birthday.

I hope you like.  I have big plans for those punches!  :)

Soooo much catching up to do....

Hello My Crafty Friends!!!

Wow!  Do I have a bunch of posts to catch up on.  I'm going to spread them out so you won't get all the projects in one post.  ;)  Plus it will keep you busy everyday and I can work on some more projects.  LOL!

Now to decide where to start...hmmmmm....I think I will go with gum ball machine candy jars.  I made a ton (exaggeration) of them!!

Here is one of the 2 that I made for my BESTIES daughter.  She is our go to cupcake/cake baker.  You can see some of the tasty treats she has made for me and others here and here and here.  ;) She ROCKS!!!

For the frosting I added layer after layer
letting it dry in between then put the cherry on top of the
top layer while wet and it glued it together.
Product I used was
Snow Tex by DecoArt

Sticko Classic Stickers Baking Glitter

Very retro don't you think?  I am so in love with this.  I think it is my favorite.  (Of course everyone I make becomes my favorite, hehe)

Stay tuned, there are loads more to come.

Snowman Gumball Candy Jar...

Hello Crafty Friends...

The last (or not) of the series of "Mommy can you make me?" gift items is this adorable, I want to make one for myself, Snowman Candy Jar.  As you know I have made bunches of these candy jars.  They make wonderful gifts for when you are on a budget, especially the living on your own, full time college student budget.  ;)

She found this particular style on Pinterest (I know, I know, hehe).  Here is the link: Budget101

And here is our version:

I know right?!  Stinkin' Cute!!!  LOL!  We used Glistening Snow-Tex Glittering Snow from Joann's for the snow trim.  Worked wonderfully.  Note: Make sure when you spray paint the frosted glass you do it outside.  Or else you will have to stay out of your craft room most of the day for the smell to go away.  Oops!  (Not that I would know.)  hehe

Enjoy your day!
