Our CA Wednesday...

Hello fellow crafty peeps!  :)

This CA Wednesday we concentrated on only Christmas cards.  This was exceptionally challenging to me because I just got my The Stamps of Life stamps, solids4halloween, web4us, moreowls2love stamps and Ann got her thanks2fall stamp and Melissa got her spooky2scare, spiros2stamp stamps. Which we were dying to play with.  But we made a commitment to get started on our Christmas cards.  Which I had to do anyways for the OWH World Cardmaking Day that is coming up Saturday, October 1.  :)  I am participating in my first blog hop with them.  Yay!  So excited.  Please pop by on Saturday to see my card.  Super cute!

Ann hosted this weeks CA Wednesday and made us a wonderful breakfast and lunch.  Yummy!  And as usual we had a GREAT time together.  Started off a bit slow but soon we were in the swing of it all.  Maybe we should have played some Christmas music in the background Ann???  :)  hehe  Or you could have played your piano for us.  Well it was fun listening to Melissa sing along with Country radio.  LOL!  Oh I'm sorry I mean *M, I keep forgetting she is to remain anonymous.  LOL  <3 you gals!

I will try to remember to add in what and who's products we used as I can.

Enjoy!

Back from Vacation...

Hello my crafty friends!

I am back from my long weekend vacation and getting ready to get to get into my craft room.  That is after we get a few things done around here.  Hubby doesn't go back to work until Wednesday.

We had a fabulous time at our Annual Street Vibrations in Reno.  We did have a few pit falls unfortunately, but we didn't let them ruin our wonderful time we were having.  That's what we have insurance for, right?!

Our first night, after a really hot day, we were getting ready to sit outside to enjoy our beautiful evening when a huge gust of wind blew down the mountain and flipped our awning up and over our trailer.  OMG, you have no idea how much is scared me as I was still in the trailer putting dishes away and talking to my hubby who was outside sitting in his chair under the awning.  I thought the trailer was going to flip over.  The pole ripped off of the trailer and almost hit my hubby in the head.  Thank goodness it missed him.  But it did do some major damage to the siding of the trailer and the back side of the trailer, not to mention ripping the awning about a 1/4 of the way off.  CRAZY weather.  It lasted all of 2 minutes and then didn't blow again the rest of the night.  So WEIRD?!  Luckily we are insured and they are going to cover the repairs, which are substantial.  Ugh!

Then we had a few minor issues with our Harley.  Poor girl.  :(  We are taking her in to the shop tomorrow to see what is up with her.  Hopefully that won't be too expensive.

Here are just a few pics of our trip.  We go every year with my sister~in~law.  She so looks forward to this trip every year.  She loves her some Harley's.  :)  LOL

It was a GREAT 5 days, now it is time to get back into the swing of things.  Loads of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas projects to get done.  :)  You know what I mean.  :)

Looking forward to participating in the OWH World Cardmaking Day Blog Hop on October 1, 2011   :)  Go to link if you want to participate in the hop.  Or be sure to check back to follow the hop.  I hear there are a lot of blogs to check out.  :)

Since I read the directions incorrectly, I need to hurry up and make a Christmas card to replace the Halloween posting I did for the Hop.  Oops!  I don't believe it specified a holiday, but in a reminder email I received it said a Christmas card.  Guess what I am doing tomorrow...LOL!

OK, well this is it for me tonight.  Going to a local flea market tomorrow early morning to check out what and if they have some crafty goodness.  I know for sure there is ribbon.  :)  Yay!  Until then,

WOO HOO!!!! I GOT IT TO WORK (that number thingy)...

Hi Friends,

Just want to say "THANK YOU!" to my bloggy friends who had some really GREAT suggestions for how to number my comments.  I really appreciate your help today.  I have been trying to do this for months and could never get it to work.  Sometimes you just have to ask for some help.  :)  So, I did!  LOL

I finally did find one that worked for me.  (Although the other tutorials might have worked.  They didn't mention expanding your comments below your posts in the settings section.  They might have been working all along.  My comments pop up in a new window and this will not work with that so I never saw the numbers next to the comments. So I didn't think they worked.)  :) I really need my hand held through these processes.  haha

So this is where I finally found a tutorial that worked:

1st Floor Flat the Computery - this will take you directly to the tutorial.

Thank you so much Susie Jefferson.  I hope this might help any others that have been trying to do this as well.  :)  Good Luck!  (Remember to always SAVE your template before you make any changes to your html ~ VERY IMPORTANT!)

Testing Post

***NEVER MIND, IT DIDN'T WORK :(***

Does anyone have any advice for me??  :)

Hello bloggy friends...

I am learning something new today and if you would like to help that would be GRAND.  haha

I want my comments to have numbers.  (Does that make sense?)  That way I can refer to comment 1 or 2 etc..
I am trying this html code, but it says it will only work in newer posts. Hmmm???

So if you would like to leave me a comment so I can see if it works that would be GREAT and I would really appreciate it.

Still time to enter my 1 year Blogaversary Give Away

Hello friends!

I am taking some time off of crafting for a very fun filled birthday week.  :)

I got all my deadline projects done, so it is time to relax.  I have a few goal projects that I want to start when I get back.  I am trying to start a little inventory and try to sell some items on Etsy.  :)

So anyway, I thought while I was gone, I would remind everyone about my 1 Year Blogaversary Give Away that I am having to celebrate.  You could win a $20.00 Gift Card to Joann's if you win.

You can go here or go to the home page at the top to see how you can enter.

I hope you are able to play along.

Good Luck!

Ryan and Kristine's Wedding Cake Card Holder...

Hello my friends!

Well I finally did it!  I got the wedding cake card holder done.  Whew!  I was sweating this one.  I wanted it to be perfect for my very special Bride and Groom.  I hope they like love it.  hehe

I don't know why I couldn't get the camera (or picasa) to pick up the green in the ribbon.  It kept coming through really blue.  Something else to learn.  :)  There wedding colors are a little more green Tiffany blue color with chocolate and fuchsia pink.  The flowers are Peony's (my fav!).

I can't wait until the big day.  It is going to be the most BEAUTIFUL wedding.  My bestie is one lucky mom and mom-in-law to be.   :)

The CA birthday girls...

Hello crafty friends!

Me, Ann and Melissa
Today was CA's craft Wednesday at my house and did we have some crafty fun!  :)  Today was Melissa's birthday and together with Ann and myself we celebrated all our birthdays together.  :)  It is birthday week for me and Melissa and Ann's was Aug 21.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADIES!

Cards I made for Melissa and Ann

The inside of Melissa's as our inside joke
is that she is "always" 29.  haha
This was the inside of Ann's card, as
we do not act our age.  Plus, I love Lucille Ball.

These are the cards Melissa made (9 total) using
owls2love, kites2fly, hearts2love, labels2use and stars4you
stamps from The {Stamps} of Life

My Favorite Things: Pure Innocence-My Umbrella
Ann used Glossy Accents on her boots and she
is going to put it on her raincoat.  Hard to see
in the picture but it is on the raindrops as well.

As I believe I told you before we are really going to make an effort to meet up on Wednesday's to create and so far so good.  :)

Pineapple upside down cake.  For some odd reason my hubby had decided
to clean the fridge the other night and threw out the new jar of Maraschino
Cherries.  He thought they were the old ones that I had already thrown out.  LOL!
Silly man!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

In remembrance of September 11, 2001

In remembrance of 9/11/01 - 9/11/11 and the families and friends of those who lost their loved ones during the horrific attack on our country, and to those who have sacrificed their lives in our armed services to protect and keep us safe. You are forever in my thoughts. I will never forget.

Sometimes mistakes are a good thing...

Hello crafty friends!

Yesterday and today I have been obsessed with the new The {Stamps} of Life stamp set owls2love.  I really really want to add the new club member pre-sale stamps to my collection (I won't ruin the surprise if you are not a member...yet) ;)  as they will go perfect with this set.  Maybe next week.  We'll see how much fun money is left after bills are paid this month.  :(  So I just worked with what I have.  :)

I have always thought that I had a white embossing powder in my stash.  I see the jar in there all the time and think one day I will need white embossing powder.  Well...I finally got to use it. I wanted to make this solid owl stamp a ghostie.  You know, stamp it and then emboss it white.  Well, turns out that said embossing powder was clear.  "WHAT?!", you say.  Yes it is true.  So I thought, ok, I will use the other one with the sparkles right...wrong, that is just a clear with sparkles.  UGH!!!!  Then I spot a bottle of silver that I have never used.  It was from Stampin'Up which I haven't been to a party for over 10years so this is really old, and wonder if it still works.  Yes it does!  But not the look I am going for.  :(  LOL!  So here is my sample:

     clear........................silver.....................sparkly
So, I rolled with the clear and love, love, love how my homemade designer paper turned out.  What do you think?

I think Stephanie would be proud.  :)

Here are a few of the cards I made (I will share the rest tomorrow)

Until tomorrow...
