Elf on the Shelf...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I could hardly wait to show you these.  LOL!  My daughter has the best sense of humor.

She went as Elf on the Shelf to our cousins Christmas party.  The kids loved it!  We named her Kandy Kane.

Just a few more ornaments...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I almost forgot to share some more of the spindle ornaments I made using the SVGCuts.com kit Christmas Ornaments SVG Kit.  Silly me.  Here they are:

I want to make some more, but I am running out of time.  Right now I am finishing up my Silly Christmas sweater for a party we will be attending next weekend.  Wait until you see the ones my niece and I worked on the other day.  We can't share yet as they are a surprise.  LOL!  And well, they probably are not appropriate for younger audiences.  ;) Hehe!

Until then I will probably be very low key getting ready for the holidays.

Snowman Gumball Candy Jar...

Hello Crafty Friends...

The last (or not) of the series of "Mommy can you make me?" gift items is this adorable, I want to make one for myself, Snowman Candy Jar.  As you know I have made bunches of these candy jars.  They make wonderful gifts for when you are on a budget, especially the living on your own, full time college student budget.  ;)

She found this particular style on Pinterest (I know, I know, hehe).  Here is the link: Budget101

And here is our version:

I know right?!  Stinkin' Cute!!!  LOL!  We used Glistening Snow-Tex Glittering Snow from Joann's for the snow trim.  Worked wonderfully.  Note: Make sure when you spray paint the frosted glass you do it outside.  Or else you will have to stay out of your craft room most of the day for the smell to go away.  Oops!  (Not that I would know.)  hehe

Enjoy your day!

Pop open box for Gift Cards...

Hello Crafty Friends!

Have you ever gotten the "Mommy, could make these for me to give as gifts for my teacher friends?" line??  LOL!

I did, and well...I did.  :)  How can you say no to them darn kids?  No matter how old they get.  LOL!

I did make her help though.  (Of course she had laundry to do, so she was going to be here anyways.)

KIDS!!!

Here is one of the projects she wanted.  She saw this idea on Pinterest (of course, she is my daughter after all).  Here is the link if you want to find out all the deets...Crafting with Class.  Her Starbucks box can be found here!  Cute huh?!

I bet they are going to LOVE them!  I want to make some more.  :)

Have a Wonderful Day!!!

12/12/12...

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy 12/12/12 day!  I just realized that it was 12/12/12 when I was going to post this.  :)

I needed a few pillows for my couch that looked a little more like Christmas and less like fall.  My first intention was to cover the fall pillows with a pillow type slip cover that I was going to make out of
Christmas napkins that I found a pack of 4 at Home Goods for $5.  Well, since those pillows were a little to big I did have a couple of pillows that I am using for the guest room decorator pillows that I'm going to make when I get around to them hopefully in January.  (More about that later.)

I just took 2 of the napkin wrongs sides together and sewed a seam on 3 sides of the inside edge of the napkin hem.  Inserted the pillow and sewed up the fourth side.  Just wanted something quick and easy for the holiday.  ;)

And here they are...

Super easy.  :)

Until next time...

More Ornaments...

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

Brace yourself...I've been on a ornament roll.  LOL!  Here is one I embellished off of an ornament I got from SVGCuts.com.  So far I have only played with spindle ornament, but I will get to the others, no worries ;).  hehe! (I have more to share during the week.)

I used the Christmas Ornament SVG Kit from SVGCuts.com.

As I was dumping out the Christmas embellishment jar, I came across these stockings I made for a card last year that they didn't fit on and I had saved them.  They were made from the same cardstock as this ornament.  Meant to be?!  :)

So far, I have nothing buy home made ornaments on the tree, most are made from paper.  (More on my ginormous tree later.)

Until tomorrow...

Underwear for Christmas?!

Hello Crafty Friends!

LOL!  I have been teasing my little niece for a while now about not believing in Santa and getting her underwear.  When I saw this stamp at Michael's the other day I had to have it!  Specifically for her Christmas present.  I am getting her underwear!!!  LOL!

Here is the card that I made with the stamp.

I can't believe these 3.5 x 5" stamps were only $2.49.  So I also picked up these two.

I had to order more ink (those little dew drop size were a pain to use on such a large stamp), so when they  get here I am going to make some more.  Just when I think I have all my Christmas cards made...LOL!  I really need to stay out of the stores.  HaHa!

I hope you are having a wonderful day and are getting some of your holiday business out of the way.  My plan is to be done a week before Christmas so I can just enjoy the festivities.  No hosting anything for us this year so the holidays should not be too stressful.  (Fingers Crossed).

How I'm wrapping this year...

Hello Crafty Friends!

When I first saw these stamp sets from The {Stamps} of Life I could not wait to get my hands on them.  All I could think about was how I wanted to use them for my Christmas present wrapping.  I already had planned to use kraft paper and twine, but then I saw these and thought I'm going to make them all look like they got mailed.  :)

The GREAT thing about these stamps is that you are not limited to just the choices in the two sets.  I used little stamps from holiday sets as well to make them more festive.  :)

I love being a Stamp Club Member at The {Stamps} of Life.

Stamp sets used:
postage2stamp
postmarks2stamp
holly4Christmas
Christmas2build
postage dies

Here is one of the gifts I wrapped.  I learned the hard way (LOL) to crease the edges on the wrapping paper  before wrapping and then lay flat to stamp and add stamps so they get centered properly.  Stamping on a shirt box after it is wrapped = messy stamps.  hehe.

That's it for now.  I'll be back soon!

More Puffy Faux Tin Stars...

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

OK, as promised I am back with some more puffy star faux tin ornaments.  Beware these were sooo addicting and the possibilities are endless.  (I would love to see your ideas if you choose to make some, attach your link to a comment and I will come check it out.)

Here we go:

Place pre-scored star in embossing folder and run through
your embossing machine.
Pre-scored will make it easier to fold later.

You might remember in the tutorial (previous post), I
mentioned about sizing your star to fit
an embossing folder.
Yeah, this is why.  LOL!
That's OK.  We will use that end
to punch our hanging hole.
Ta Daaa!!! LOL!

Here are the color inks I used.
You can use whatever you want for the effect
you are looking for.  :)
Sky's the limit!

I inked my edges first.

Then I sponged the Moonlight white lightly over the
top.
(Why it looks so white in the picture I have no idea.  Must be
the flash.  It isn't this bright.)  :)

Crease the stars peaks and valleys.

I inked the peaks with my brown dauber.
Again, it isn't this dark.  It is really light as you will see
in the finished piece.

Voila!!!
(See I told you wasn't that dark.)  ;)

Here is one I did with a dark blue ink.
I inked the blue previous to embossing using the
pad to paper method.
Let dry a bit before running through your embossing
folder, or it will get messy.
After embossing go over entire star lightly with silver ink on a dauber.

Well, I hope you enjoyed all my little lovely stars.  I am sure there will be more to come.  My mom gave me her old ginormous fake Christmas tree (9 feet) and I will need more ornaments to fill that sucker up.  More about that later after I am done decorating.  LOL!

Talk to you soon!!!
