Christmas Cards...

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am sharing the cutest little Christmas card made with the cutest little penguin from The {Stamps} of Life.  I used the penguins4Christmas stamp set and the snowflakes from the Joy2Christmas set.

Brrrr, it's cold outside so I gave him some rosy cheeks.

I colored the present to look like
wrapping paper.

I am so sad.  I lost my littlest snowflake stamp after
stamping the background.  :(

I hope you enjoyed my little penguin cards.

Christmas cards...

Hello Crafty Friends!

Poinsettia svg from Penny Duncan Creations

I thought I would share my Christmas cards with you, then I thought, but what if my family and friends that I send them to might see them, and then I thought, I am not very good at not sharing what I am working on, there would be no blog.  LOL!  So I am going to share and take my chances.  Ha ha!

I will try to share a card a day (maybe 2).

My Poinsettia svg is from Penny Duncan Creations.  She has lot's of GREAT .svg files and tutorials as well.  :)  Go check her blog out.  You will be glad you did.

This was very easy to put together.  The sentiment stamp came from penguins4Christmas over at The {Stamps} of Life.  I accidentally (is there really a such things as accidents in crafting, or just new oppurtunities?) taped one of the pieces on upside down, so decided to make 2 of each.  Either way I think they turned out GREAT.  :)

That's it for today...stay tuned for more tomorrow.

Flashback......

Hello O Crafty Ones!

As I was decorating for Thanksgiving (what little items I have to decorate with) I came across last years paper projects that I made.  Thought I would dust them off and show them again (after all, my newer followers probably didn't catch it last year).  :)  I am not hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year, so probably won't do very much decorating.

All .svg's came from SVGCuts.com

Is it Christmas yet?...

Hello friends!

So, I am sort of excited for Christmas, how about you?  We are having a very small Christmas this year, which I am totally ok with.  I would rather have all the family together, eat loads of great food and play games.  :)  It's all about the little ones, as far as gifts go, which again, I am totally ok with.  LOL!  They are easier to buy for.  :)

I am really excited about making homemade gifts for my friends and neighbors.  With all the new things I have learned this year, I have a list a mile long (rein it in Ter) of projects I want to make.  Budget wise, that is not going to happen (at least this year) but I can make some really cute boxes to put baked goods in.  Yay! And of course Christmas cards, which I have been slowly but surely getting around to making.  :)

Here is one I worked on yesterday.  I am making my cards in multiples this year seeing as how I have a ton to get done.  My goal is to have them all ready to mail out at the first of December.  ( I figure if I wrote it down it would keep me accountable ) let's see how this works.  LOL!

Using my penguins4Christmas stamp from
The Stamps of Life

I had this paper from years ago that I got in a scrapbook paper pack from Dollar Tree.  I think it was waiting all this time for me to use it with this little penguin.  I think he is adorable.  I got interrupted after I stamped them and just now realized I forgot his bow tie, grrr!  Oh well, easy enough to fix later.  LOL!  I am sure I will tweak it some more before they get sent out.  :)

OK, time to get back to work.

Merrell Down & Dirty

Hello Crafty Friends!

No project today, just a share.  :)

Sunday my son did his first 5K Marathon.  It was a run and obstacle course type of event and he totally loved it.  He did it with his cousin and soon to be uncle.  :)

Erica, Blaine & Brady
If you love to do marathons and want to do something a little more down and dirty, I really suggest you check this event out.  Merrell Down & Dirty Mud Run.  This organization is partnered with Operation Gratitude.  They send care packages to our deployed.  What a GREAT group of people.

Just a few pics to share (I don't want to overwhelm you...I was a little bit camera happy) haha.  What can I say, I am a very proud mama.

Me and my boy
(before, while he was still clean)
LOL

The start line
There were some obstacle I wasn't able to see
from our location at the finish area.  This rope obstacle was
about the 4th or 5th I believe.
Before this one he has to wade in about chest high
water along the edge of the lake.
This rope climb obstacle was wet and soapy/slippery.
He just shimmied right up it.  LOL!
And then there is the famous mud pit.
You have to crawl through this on your belly, no exceptions!

Here comes my muddy boy.

The muddy trio!

We are SO PROUD!
He placed 12th out of 99 participants in his age division.  He
was really proud of himself that he did this event.  First time ever and he can't wait
until next year.  He wants to beat his
time 35:48.  :)

I have a few project ideas floating around in my head.  Not sure which I will accomplish first, but you know me, I will share as soon as they are done. I also am working on my Christmas cards, so I should have some of those to share soon.

In the meantime, let me know what you are working on.  I love to hear from my crafty friends.  If you want you can "Like" me over on my Facebook page MyNeed2Craft .

My nieces bday...

Hello my crafty friends!

Well, are you all recuperated from Halloween?  I am.  And I am ready to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas now.  I had a very busy weekend and I will get to that in my next blog post.  ;)  (I should say my son had a very busy weekend.)  hehe

It was my "Oldest" nieces birthday this past week.  (28) Shhhh!  I didn't say that...:)  I just made up a really quick bag skirt that I got from Penny Duncan Creations.  You can find the file here PDC Gift Bag Skirt Scallop.  Penny has lot's of cut files in a variety of types.  Check her out and tell her I sent ya!  She is a wonderful person and extremely talented.  Very generous as well.

I had to modify it a bit (I hope you don't mine Penny) to fit a smaller gift bag with handles so I shrunk it down a bit and then I wanted it to layer so tweaked it a bit for that too.  I think it turned out really cute.

I also wanted to share the gift that I gave her as I am not the only talented crafter in my family.  I have a long list of creative Grandmothers, Aunts and Cousins.  :)  One of my cousins, Kim, makes these wonderful key fobs.  I love them so much I bought one for almost everyone of my family and friends.  :)  Plus if you need something special, I bet if you asked her she could find it for you.  :)  <3 her!  Here is her facebook page Quadmom Designs  :)

OK, so, I played around in Picasa and learned how to make a collage (very interesting).  I still have a lot to learn about this program, but am having fun doing it.  hehe  Here is the gift and gift bag collage style ~

And here are just some regular style :)

Until next time....
