The Apron Gift...
Hello My Crafty Friends!
I hope the holidays have treated you well. :) We had a wonderful holiday. Especially as my daughter's doctor let her go off of the Prednisone just before Christmas. He said it would be a trial period to see how her platetes react. Hopefully those counts will stay up so she won't have to go on Nplate injections. :( This has been a really hard year for her, so we are staying hopeful that all will be well.
I wanted to share with you a apron that I made for my Besties wonderful DIL (that I have adopted) ;). She is quite the baker and has made some fabulous cupcakes for all of us. It has been so hard to keep this a secret from her as she would always pick up aprons when we were shopping and we would tell her they weren't that cute so she wouldn't buy one before Christmas. hehe
Got some more projects coming up. This is going to be a busy 2012 for me. Lot's of milestone birthdays in my family. Plus I have decided to start making items to sell on Etsy.com. I will keep you all updated in case their is anything you may be interested in. :)
Have a SAFE and WONDERFUL New Year! See ya next year!

Is it called re-purposing????
Hello Crafty Friends!
It has been a while! I have a tag to share. :) I made this out of a kit that had a total different purpose in mind. My GREAT crafty friend Ann (who I miss something terrible since she rejoined the work-force) had given me these kits that she found when she cleaned her craft room last year. This particular set was for 4x6 pictures. There were no directions and I wasn't quite sure what the original intentions were but I loved the paper colors and they matched my pattern papers so I just rolled with it. I made gift tags! Soooo easy. Now they have a purpose!

Meet Buddy...
Hello Crafty Friends!
I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our little visitor Buddy. He will be staying with us until Christmas Eve where he will go home to the North Pole until next year. I hope my boy (15 1/2) and girl (20) have been good. You are never to old for Santa.
I will be busy working on Christmas gifts the next few days (one's that I won't be able to share until after Christmas...but I will try to do something I can share every now and again.
Until next time...

Victorian Christmas in Nevada City, CA...
Hello Crafty Friends!
I had a very productive and busy weekend. :) Christmas tree is decorated (ok, well, truth be told...it has a few ornaments on it. My ornaments are too heavy for the branches so we had to resort to our lighter ones, which there are not very many of...oops!) It is still beautiful regardless. <3
Saturday was a all day baking day. Whew, it was hot in that kitchen...hehe. As soon as my dad get's me the pics I will blog about that later.
Sunday was a beautiful, if chilly, day and a whole bunch of us caravan-ed up to Nevada City, CA for their annual Victorian Christmas. We have driven by Nevada City numerous times on our Harley trips, but have never stopped in to visit the beautiful little town. Here are a few pics of our day...
Beautiful town, right? I could have looked at these old buildings all day. Another time...you can see how crowded it get's there.
Until next time (when my dad get's me those baking pics),

Before the vendors set up... |
about 1 1/2 hours after vendors set up. And this was only one of the streets. |
I love these street lamps. |
Caroloers...and my hubby (upper left) holding up the lamp post. hehe |

Glitter Ornaments...
I am having a bit of insomnia, so I decided to play with some glitter. :) I finally found the Pledge w/ Future floor shine to use for these ornaments, and I have to say, it was very easy. :) I had these ornaments around for a while (I tried that glass etching stuff, but it didn't work so well) and they have been up in the closet. I thought I would use them someday...and well....today is the day (or late night). I had seen this technique on, you guessed it...Pinterest. :)
There are lot's of tutorials out there, so I will skip the technique part and refer you to this YouTube video. These were the exact supplies I had on hand. :)
I wonder if there are anymore clear ornaments left out there? I would like to make some more. :)
Until next time...

Christmas Card #???...I lost count...
Hello Crafty Friends!
I hope your crafty week is going well. I have been very busy crafting, organizing, crafting, laundry, crafting, cleaning...you see a theme going on here?
Here is another Christmas card to share...This adorable stamp set came as a little Christmas gift from The {Stamps} of Life with this months stamp set. Thank you Stephanie! :) Well, I just had to make a card with it right away. :)

One of the really great thing about being a The {Stamps} of Life Club Member are these wonderful little surprise goodies we get occasionally with our stamp of the month. This month we got the cutest little Christmas Greeting sentiment from Stephanie with our stamp set. Awesome! Only one of the reasons you should become a club member (believe me there are tons of others...go check out her website). They are a GREAT company and their stamps are made in the USA (I don't know about you, but I am starting to be more aware of my purchases and where they are made...my little contribution to boosting the economy here in the USA.)
Until next time...

Together We Make A Family...
Hello Crafty Friends!
I really needed to update the family pictures in my house and have been going over and over what I wanted to do. I have had this vinyl sentiment Together We Make A Family for about 2+ years and just couldn't decide what I wanted to do with it. I kept thinking I would wait until after I painted again (but let's face it, that isn't happening any time soon) LOL
So my little darling granfurbaby Diesel sort of forced the issue when he ran up the wall and knocked down one of the pictures as he was being chased lovingly followed by my other little granfurbaby Rowdy. Silly boys.
I know this isn't a Christmas crafty post...but thought I would share. I got most of these picture frames at Walmart for $3.00. Not bad I thought. :)

Refurbished Wreath...
Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I am going to share my wreath that I refurbished this past weekend. I took my old (very plain) wreath and added a lot of doo dads and came up with this. Looks much better I think, how about you? :)

Even though it was so plain it did have battery operated lights. They were broken, so they were removed. :) |
