The "Cupcake Stand"...

Hello everyone...

Well here is a pic of my birthday girl with her cupcake stand:

Happy 20th Birthday Chelsea!

Here it is...I only wish I would have used
better contrasting colors so the letters
showed up better.  Oh well next time. :)
I used my SCAL2 to cut the banner that I got from
SKhedr Designs and just backed up with
a strip of yellow paper and then layered circles on top
with the letters.  Font used is Cheri.  Love this font
but my paper color choices didn't do it justice.

Hugs to you,

Chelsea's Birthday...

Hello friends...

Today is my middle daughter's 20th birthday.  How could I possibly have children this old when I am still so young????  Boggles the mind.  hehe

Here is her Birthday card I made with stamps from The Stamps of Life.

A Liebster Blog Award

Hello friends...

I just received a Liebster Blog Award from the talented Karen McPherson at A Card Retreat.  Karen and I just met today and followed each other from the wonderful Momo who is helping all of us bloggers that have less than 100 or 200 followers find each other and make new blog friends.  There is a lot of talent out their and  Karen is no exception.  She has some wonderful cards.  I especially love her monogram cards that she made a friend.  Thank you Karen for this award.  I am glad we are new blogger friends.  :)

Now I need to pay it forward so in the spirit of how I got my award, I will choose someone that I followed and made new friends with from Momo's and here are the guidelines:

The Liebster Award is designed to bring new blogs to light. It is a great way to share blogs that might not otherwise be seen or ones you may want to share with others. I am here to honor 3-5 blogs to bring awareness to other wonderful blogs.

As a recipient you must share the love and pay it forward by:
  1. Creating a post where you blog about the Liebster Award & reveal your 3-5 blog picks.
  2. Let them know you chose them
  3. Copy & paste the blog award to your blog
  4. Have faith that your followers will rally & show their crafty love back out to those you awarded
  5. Have FUN!

Here are my picks:

Cheryl at Nana's Creative Place has some beautiful different fold cards here.  I am still learning how to make these type of cards and hers are beautiful.

Alannah at A Little Bit of Everything... has a little bit of everything.  Much like me, I love to dabble in all sorts of crafts.  She has some great cards and other projects.  And well, She Rocks!  I love that.  :)

Tiffany at Sparkled Memories has lovely cards.  I especially love the bridal shower card she posted today.  Lot's of details in her work which I love too.  I love embossing.  :)

I really hope to take a look at these wonderful ladies blogs and send them some love.  Become a follower too!

A HUGE 'Thank you to Momo' and Working on something new...

Hello friends...

I would like to say "THANK YOU!" to all of my "New" followers that came over from Momo's.  What a GREAT idea this is. Maybe I will get those 100 followers before my 1st blogaversary after all.  (Fingers crossed)  :)

Thank you Momo for doing this to help out us little bloggers.  It is so exciting.  I have met some amazing people already who are sooo talented.  I plan to check out all that are putting their blogs on her linky.  Might take a while as I see new add ons everyday, but I am enjoying it.

Today I am challenging myself, instead of entering a challenge.  I bought a card board 3 tier cupcake stand for my daughters 20th bday that is coming up (we are celebrating with family on Sunday).  And I am going to decorate it up!  I have so many ideas running through the old brain today.  I better get on it.

Sympathy card...

Hello friends.

Recently I had to make a sympathy card for a very dear friend who lost her beloved horse.  They were life long friends and had many adventures.  He will be so missed out at the ranch.  I wanted to share the card I made for her that I photo shopped of his portrait.

RIP Little Guy

I'm Baaack!

Hello friends,

I know you missed me, right?  LOL!  What a GREAT time I had with my sister in law and daughter these last few days.  Even though it rained most of the time, we did get a chance to get out yesterday and take her puppy to the dog park.

It was my daughters 23rd birthday on the 20th and we took her to a dinner theater in her town that a friend of hers was in and it was FABULOUS!  Lot's of one liners that I tried really hard to remember, but you know how the old brain works.  LOL!  I am sure they will come back to me at some point.  hehe  The play was a musical of The Wedding Singer.  Very funny!  Here we are:

All dressed up
Julia Guglias!  (These were sooo yummy)

One of Kayla's favorite movies is
Breakfast at Tiffany's
(Yes, I stamped my own paper to match)

Which inspired this card.
Stamp from The Stamps of Life greeting4birthday

Kayla loved her card.  I can't believe I didn't get any pics of her with it.  Maybe she will bring it here when she comes next week for her sister's birthday and we can re-enact.  haha

We took the train, it was our first time.  That was a lot of fun.  Can't wait to do it again.  I think I would like to go a lot more places on the train.

I sure did miss my craft room.  I did bring it some presents.  hehe  Did you know there are Michael's everywhere?  LOL!

That's it for today.  More cards to make for this week commencing tomorrow.  :)

Nothing for me this week...

Hello everyone...

I haven't been working on very much this week, got a few things done, which I will post pics of at a later date.

Getting ready to head to Pleasanton tomorrow for the Scrapbook Expo.  Got a group of girlfriends and my mom to go and we are going to have a blast.  Can't wait.  We all love to craft all sorts of things.  :)  I went to the one in Sacramento previously this year and loved it, so when I saw there was this one I couldn't wait to go again.  This time I am better prepared.  LOL!  Plus I am excited to meet Stephanie Barnard from The Stamps of Life.  I love her stamps and she is going to be there.  I am a member of her stamp club, so hopefully we will take a pic that I can post on my blog.  Yay!

And then, my sister in law and I are off for a stay with my oldest daughter who's birthday is Sunday.  We are taking the train.  Never taken one before, so we are making an adventure out of it.  LOL!  Can't wait to hang out with my daughter. We are going to a dinner theater that her friend performs in and the show is The Wedding Singer.  I loved this movie, so I can't wait to see the play.  :)

So I guess I will talk to you all next week sometime when I get back.  Have a GREAT weekend!

GOTTA LOVE IKEA...

Hello everybody!

Went to IKEA today and found some really cool stuff for my craft room organization.  :)  Yay!  So I spent this rainy day organizing and bless and releasing.  haha  Made more room in closet for my paper and cardstock/envelopes etc etc...

Here are a few pick of what I got and/or what I moved around and reorganized...

Mostly just cleaned and organized this area.

Really moved this side around and added my IKEA purchases.
Reorganized my ribbon storage too!  Now it is all in one
place.

Lower Left: Magnetic Knife holder from IKEA.  Do you just
love it?  I am going to get another one to put right
next to it so I can add more Nestabilities when I
get them.  :)

Above:  Bracket that holds little storage shelves from IKEA (so are
the little jars on the bottom shelf).  Perfect for those little odds
and ends.  Brads, buttons, googly eyes.  hehe
(Gonna get some more of those little jars too.)

Ribbon station.

Maybe my hubby will take me back tomorrow for some more fun stuff.  (I found 2 bedroom comforter sets I like.  One for our room and one for the guest room.)  I am in a renovation mood.  :)

Day Light Savings Time....

Hello Everyone,

Is Daylight Savings Time throwing you off?  It is me, got up and it was 7:30.  What 7:30?!  LOL.  I even went to bed early so I could adjust.  I guess that means I slept in.  I usually get up at 6:30.  And I never go to bed early.  LOL!

I cleaned up the craft room and I am prepared for a new project, but it is going to be outside day today for us.  Got to get these yards whipped into shape.  Need to start thinking what to get to start planing.  Need to take out a few trees this year.  Clean out the BBQ ( I think we will BBQ steaks tonight ) Yummy!

I used to have a very beautiful yard, but over the years as I was working outside the home and while we had yard service for mowing and edging the lawn,  the gardens got neglected and now are just big empty places overtaken with roots and weeds.  :(  Very sad.  Well now I am a  SAHM and really want to get it looking beautiful again.

Well, I am off to get the boys out of bed (you didn't think I was going to do this all by myself did you?)  hehe

Have a GREAT Sunday!

Mr. Weston's "1st" Bday...

Hello friends...

Here is the card I made for my GREAT Nephew Weston's first birthday.  There was more I wanted to add, but unfortunately it was 1:30am before I finished it and my craft stores are all closed.  hehe  What's up with that?  LOL!

Oh well, I loved the papers.  Thanks Ann for sharing with me.  :)  If you could let me know the name of the paper stack, I will put in here. (Thanks Ann - DCWV All About Boys)

My favorite part is the cowboy boot.  I textured it with my Cuttlebug embossing folders to look like tooled leather and ostrich.  Fancy right?!  I wanted to add a lasso but could not find any twine type material in my arsenal of supplies.  The font I used it Dry Goods and the boot .svg came from Images by Heather.  The star come from SVG Shop Blog.  I removed the Sheriff and put in a #1.

OK, well here it is, I hope you like.  :)

Today....wine with friends? I think yes!

Hi Everyone!

What a GREAT day I had today with 2 of my dearest friends.  A very spontaneous day.  I had planned to clean the house, go to Joanns, pick up my son from his friends house that he slept over at last night, make more cards.

Well, I woke up this morning and got ready for the day, came downstairs, let the pet's out, fed and watered the pets, made my breakfast and sat down to read my emails, catch up with Words with Friends (got 6 games going at once) and check my Facebook before I headed out the door and...

My bestie had just posted on fb that she was looking for a bottle of Jeff Runquist Syrah, that I had given her on New Year's that she just loved and couldn't find in any of our local stores.  I commented back to her that I thought you could only get it at their winery.  So we looked it up, and can you believe it, the winery was located just in the next county over.  ROAD TRIP!  haha  She called our other friend and we jumped in her car and headed up to the foothills.  It was a beautiful day and way to nice to stay in and clean house anyway.  haha

Well, you just can't go up to the Amador County wine country and stop at one winery, so we hit a few.  :)  Imagine that.  Had a nice lunch at little place in old town Plymouth, where there was another vintner with his wares which were YUMMY!  So bought more there.  haha

We had a BLAST!  I love being spontaneous!  GREAT TIMES!

And as luck would have it, the rain we were supposed to get today, didn't roll in until this evening.  Perfect timing as we were all already home.  :)

This is the tank top I got.
(See I didn't just buy wine)

Cheers,

Oh yeah, my son ended up having plans to stay at his friends all day, so I didn't have to pick him up until we got back.  LOL  In case you thought I forgot him.  hehe

Anniversary Flowers...

Hello everyone!

My hubby and I are fast approaching our Silver Anniversary so I was searching Google for a gift idea to get my husband.  We don't usually buy for each other (we buy what we want and say "Guess what you bought me for our anniversary" ) haha.  It's how we roll.  LOL

I didn't know that anniversaries not only have a type of symbol (ie. silver, gold, diamond and pearl) to name a few, but that they also have flowers.  I am sure some of you (probably a lot of you) already knew this, but it was news to me.  :)  And as I have quite a few friends celebrating milestone anniversaries as well this year, this gave me some ideas on cards to make for them.  :)  Ours is the Iris.

I used to have these all over my planters, but as the years have gone by and the tree roots have taken over the whole yard, it choked out all my bulbs.  My mom gave me a whole bag of tubers from her garden and they are just going to waste.  With this crazy weather I haven't been able to plant them.  :(

You can check out About.com for all the flowers that go with each anniversary.

OK, so I guess you noticed I didn't make my card a day this week.  See how I am.  Well tomorrow I am free and I am going to get some cards made.  :)

Hugs,
