DYSU Challenge #4 Patterned Paper

I am entering this card in to the DYSU Challenge #4 Patterned Paper.  I noticed after the butterfly dried that is took a little walk across the flower.  LOL!  It was centered when I left it to dry this afternoon.  Oh well, it's homemade right?

I just used some random paper that I got from The Dollar Tree many moons ago.  (Like many, many moons!)  hehe  Trying to use up things I have.

Hello friends,

I made these the other day from my butterfly2build stamps from The Stamps of Life.

My moms idea to color in the dots.  :)

I was showing my parents how to make cards.  My mom has been wanting to learn, so they came over for a visit and I went through a few things with them.

My dad watercolor's so he was interested in the copic  markers that I am in love with, so I showed him what I had learned so far.  So many wonderful teachers out there and I appreciate each and everyone of you.  So many different techniques, so I can find one that fits my style.  :)

My dad is into lapidary (cut's and polishes stones.)  When I had the bead store he was our Monday guy.  (He worked for us so we could have a day off.)  He also had quite the following of beader's that were into stone beadwork.  He had a fabulous selection of cabachons.  If you are interested you can see his website here Focalstones.

In unrelated news...

What is up with this rain??  I had so many plans to get the yards done today.  Ugh!  Just when it was drying out a bit...still damp from all the fog, but enough to clean up etc.  Now it has poured all night and everything is a muddy mess again.

Needless to say, the boys have slept in and now are doing the happy dance.  They have decided to go to the movies.  Green Lantern.

I just can't seem to get my Nerd On, so I will stay home and be "CRAFTY!"  hehe.  I got a new embossing folder in the mail yesterday that I want to play with.  (OK~so there is something related to my blog.)  haha

I hope you are having a nicer weather day.  My poor niece is flying home to PA this morning from CA, at least it was nice while she was here.  :)

What a GREAT day I am having...

I just received a Stylish Blogger Award award from my amazing blog friend Cheryl at Cheryl Ann First Expressions.  Thank you so much for thinking of me.  :)  I am truly honored.  And in acceptance of this award, I need to tell you 8 things about myself and pass on to 8 others.

1.  My family and friends are my life...there is nothing I wouldn't do for them.
2.  I am a very happy, positive thinking person.  (The cup is half full, if you will.) :)

The Stamps of Life...

I am soooo excited today.  My stamps from The Stamps of Life came today.  I can't wait to play...and tomorrow I have a whole day.  Yay!  (Although I will probably start playing with them tonight.)  hehe  I am so glad I became a club member.  You should definitely check out all the other stamps she has, I love them.  Check her link in my side bar.

Hellooooo everyone....

Just wanted to say "Helloooo" to everyone.  I haven't posted in a couple of days, I need to get these cards finished up and entered into their perspective challenges.  :)  I had them all packed up to work on today to color while the family was quadding in the mud, but where we go was closed for a race.  So we are going to go tomorrow instead.  Since I didn't want to unpack the trailer, I figured I would take the day off and work on them tomorrow and get them submitted Tuesday.

I got all my digi's printed out and my Copics in my craft bag, ready to go.  :)

Kayla's Owl picture project...

Today was spent with my oldest who is here visiting creating a picture masterpiece.  :)  Her bathroom is mid-century modernish, if there is such a thing and she has been wanting to create her own piece to hang in there.  So today she got to play with my SCAL2 and Cricut and came up with this beautiful piece of artwork.  I am so proud.  :)  She says she can be artsy fartsy too!  LOL  Here is her piece...

She had free reign of my computer and Cricut today, so I am not sure of all the cut files she used.  Some were Cricut cartridges and some were .svg files and some were hand cut.

Welcome new followers...

I see I have some new followers, yay!  "Welcome ladies!"  I am so happy you are here.  And a hello to my other ladies who have been with me.

Sorry I have nothing to post today.  Had a very busy day and then in the middle a migraine popped up and knocked me out of commission for a few hours, (even took a while for the Excedrine Migraine to kick in).  Feeling a bit better now, still a little queasy.  So I am going to go ahead and take the rest of the evening off and rest up.

Tomorrow, my oldest daughter (who is visiting for a few days) and I are going to craft tomorrow.  We are going to come up with some sort of collage type picture frame for her vintage postcards that she started collecting for her apartment.  Unfortunately she didn't bring them with her so we are going to wing it.  :)  She will add the postcards to it when she gets home.  So this should be fun.  Stay tuned...I will post pics tomorrow.

2 New card challenges....

Today I am sending this card into 2 different challenges.

One from By Lori Designs Challenges - BLDC1, this is their very first challenge "YAY!"   It is a color challenge using one of her digi stamps (I chose Peekaboo baby) and this is their color block:

And since I put buttons on it I thought I would enter into this challenge at Do you stackup?: 1st Challenge.
Even the bug was a button that I cut the shank off.  :)  It is their first challenge also.

I am excited to come in at the ground floor of these challenges since I am a newbie too!  :)

Here is my card...

I used Copic markers to color the Peekaboo baby and printed out my own sentiment, the pattern paper is by doodlebug design inc.  And the sketch is from CPS - Card Sketches of which I am working on another card of this sketch for their challenge tomorrow.

My first card challenge...

I was really nervous, but I entered my first card challenge.  Whew!  Took me quite a while just to get it entered into the website.  I have quited the reading list on google of blogs that I am following and a lot of them offer these great challenges.  You can even win something at some of them.  Pretty cool.  The card I entered was purely for getting used to the whole idea of entering a challenge, so no prize.  But that is OK, because I hope to get some comments, either good or bad, to help me improve.

I really like to make cards and since I have more than I need, I am going to start donating them to an organization that ships them to our guys and gals overseas in the military.  Then they can send there loved ones a card for any occasion.  Isn't that awesome?

OK, so here is my card...

I used this free digi from Just Some Lines, that she donated for this challenge,  I loved it.  I am just starting a Copic Marker collection and only have 2 pinks, hehe.  I also used my favorite stamps from The Stamps of Life hearts2love stamps.  I also used a heart border .svg from SVGShop.com which was free.  The cardstock is from Little Yellow Bicycle "Love Story".

OK, so that is it for me today.  They are having another challenge that I am working on right now, so I hope to get it done by tomorrow.  LOL.
